Fedora Data Working Group

The Fedora Data Working Group (FDWG) manages Fedora’s data infrastructure — collecting, storing, and making the data that flows through the Fedora Project available for analysis. We provide decision support to CommOps through community health analytics.

What we do

FDWG is an umbrella term covering two primary work areas:

Data Engineering

We move, clean, augment and optimize data from across the Fedora Project. Our primary tool is Datanommer, which archives messages from the Fedora message bus as Parquet files for analysis.

Data Platform (Hatlas)

Hatlas is our shared data platform. It provides community tooling for queries, dashboards, and collaborative exploration, as well as raw data for local processing with preferred tools.
