Perubahan dalam Fedora 40 Bagi Pengguna Desktop
KDE Plasma 6
Fedora 40 provides the KDE Plasma 6 desktop environment, a major upgrade from the previous version.
The new release provides a host of major changes, including partial HDR support, a new Overview effect, a floating panel, and many others. Also, The Cube is back.
KDE Plasma 6 is successor to KDE Plasma 5 created by the KDE Community. It is based on Qt 6 and KDE Frameworks 6 and brings many changes and improvements over previous versions. For Fedora Linux, the transition to KDE Plasma 6 will also include dropping support for the X11 session entirely, leaving only Plasma Wayland as the sole offered desktop mode. X11 applications are still supported, however. See the Feedback section on the Change page for details.
For full information about the new KDE release, see the official announcement.
IBus changes
The IBus package, which provides multilingual input in Fedora, has been updated to version 1.5.30. Enhancements include:
-
The
ibus start
andibus restart
commands will work for KDE Plasma on Wayland. (They have worked previously in Plasma on X11.) -
The "Preference" menu item will be shown in IBus activate menu in Plasma on Wayland. (The change is not needed in Plasma on X11 since the context menu is also available.)
Additionally, the updated ibus-anthy
package now updates the Japanese Era for 2024 for those using a Japanese locale.
