Erlang

Erlang/OTP 22.0 is available in Fedora 31. Notable changes in this upgrade include:

  • Better and faster compiler. Faster string operations which Elixir users will benefit.

  • A new experimental low-level socket API.

  • Even faster SSL/TLS operations.

  • Improvements on Erlang Distribution Protocol handling. Now, huge messages split into smaller ones, instead of longer blocking.

This upgrade benefits both developers and end-users. That is:

  • Developers now have improved logging, better unified with the rest of system.

  • Users get more robust, scalable, and fast Erlang applications.
